The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC)'s National Breast and Bowel Cancer Screening programme, `Screen For Life`, is partnering with Doha Festival City until the end of this month to host an in-mall activation programme.

This comes in support of the month-long ‘October Means Breast Cancer Screening’ campaign and in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Aimed at increasing awareness levels and encouraging as many women as possible across the nation to undergo a complimentary breast cancer screening, Doha Festival City visitors can now visit the mall and avail of this offering, according to a press statement.Doha Festival City has shown support for the campaign and allocated space on its premises for the ‘Screen For Life’ awareness booth while hosting the programme’s mobile screening unit, which offers complementary on-ground mammogram service to eligible women (45 years and above and holder of a health card). The booth will enable the ‘Screen For Life’ team members to engage with shoppers and provide them with in-depth insight into the goals of the programme and the processes involved, including distributing educational materials, driving home the message of how screening plays a crucial role in the early detection of cancer. Trevor Hill, general manager of Doha Festival City Mall, said: “We are honoured to be supporting the Breast Cancer Awareness Month along with the Primary Health Care Corporation. We hope that the booth will raise awareness of this worthy cause and also encourage as many people as possible to take part in a complimentary testing by providing an easy accessible yet private place in which to do so.”The month-long breast cancer awareness campaign is a key addition to ‘Screen For Life’ efforts to drive cancer awareness among Qatari citizens and residents. The interactive in-mall activation in collaboration with the support of Qatar’s major shopping destinations, including Doha Festival City, plays a crucial role in the success of the programme across the country, the statement adds. The screening units will be open to visitors at Doha Festival City until October 19.
