TEDx meet to be held on Nov 11

The Organizing Committee yesterday launched the upcoming TEDxAlDafnaEDconference and provided details of the event that is scheduled to beheld on November 11.The conference is the “first of its kind in the GCC region”. Details of theconference were outlined by QU Student Services and Activities directorAbdulla al-Yafei, Qatar Foundation (QF)’s head of Press Office Khalifaal-Kubaisi, Ibtkar for Visual Creativity CEO Mohamed al-Marri,TEDxAlDafnaED project manager and student Mohamed Khader, TEDxAlDafnaEDexternal relations manager and student Jaber Abu-Humaid, andTEDxAlDafnaED Operations manager and student Anas Rasras.It is being held by the organizing committee in collaboration with Qatar University (organising partner) in collaboration with QF (educationalpartner), Ibtkar for Visual Creativity (golden sponsor), Teach forQatar, Doha Institute for Graduate Studies and World Innovation Summitfor Education (knowledge partners), and the Public Works Authority –Ashghal (bronze sponsor).The conference is designed to provide aplatform for university students, educators and experts to discusseducation-related issues, exchange ideas on the future of education andprovide efficient solutions to enhance the education system at the localand regional levels, the statement notes.“As an organizing partner to TEDxAlDAfnaED, Qatar University demonstrates its commitment to providingits students with opportunities that enrich their experience and bringthem together with experts from various institutions to exchange theirideas and expertise, which will contribute to advancing the educationsector,” al-Yafei said.“We, at Qatar Foundation, are proud tocollaborate in this event that aims to drive the education sector inQatar. At TEDxAlDafnaED event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.”
