Ooredoo received the ‘Distinguished Company for Supporting Sport’ Awardat the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) ‘Sport Excellence Day 2017’yesterday. The prestigious annual event has been organised by QOC tohonour the best athletes, sport officials, sport institutions, andgovernment and non-government organisations for their contribution inboosting sport movement during the 2016-2017 season.Ooredoo Group CEO Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani, along with a host ofother senior executives from Ooredoo, attended the event where Ooredoowas honoured by QOC President  HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad bin Khalifaal-Thani with an award for its ongoing support of all-levels of sport inQatar.As part of the company’s commitment to encouraging people to live morehealthy and active lifestyles, Ooredoo is a National Sponsor of theQatar Olympic Committee and helped support a host of initiatives duringthe Rio 2016 Olympic Games, all Association of National OlympicCommittees (ANOC) events, FINA/Airweave Swimming World Cup events, andthe Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series.This year, Ooredoo also held a successful Ooredoo Marathon and NationalSport Day event at MIA Park.
