The registration will continue until October 12 at Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud Hall in Frij Kulaib. Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed competition includes several categories of the Qur’an, including the whole holy book as well as categories of 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 chapters for Qatari citizens. It also includes a category for memorisation for residents who are imams, muezzins, teachers and readers of the Qur’an and famous readers and those who have previously won the competition. A third category is for residents in the memorisation of the Qur’an.Zakat Fund aid QR11mnThe total amount of donations provided by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs’ Zakat Fund in September was over QR11mn. The Zakat Fund said in a press release that the amount included permanent donations provided on a monthly basis for registered families as well as intermittent donations that are provided for specific needs and granted on a one-time basis. The fund said that this aid is provided to beneficiaries in accordance with the Shariah regulations.
