CRA portal wins Arab Government Achievement Award

Thee-Spectrum Service Portal, a consumer-centric public service under theCommunications Regulatory Authority (CRA), has been awarded the ‘ArabGovernment Achievement Award’ by the Pan Arab Excellence Awards Academy.Launchedin January 2017, the e-Spectrum Services Portal is the public interfaceof the CRA’s Automated Frequency Management System (AFMS), and allowsspectrum users to submit applications online for issuing, modifying, orcancelling their spectrum licences. Users can also view activelicenses, track submitted applications, register radio network/areadeployments, view invoices, and make online payments. The portal is alsocompatible with personal computers, tablets, and smartphones. TheAFMS was designed in line with international best practices and plays animportant role in efficient management of the radio frequency spectrumin Qatar. Through this system, the CRA aligns its services with theQatar Digital Government initiative, and the system is part of CRA’sstrategic objective of digitising the application process for spectrumusers in the state of Qatar.“The CRA is pleased at the recognitionof its e-Spectrum Services Portal. The portal has user-friendlyfunctionalities to apply and review processes, which significantlyincreases the efficiency, speed and transparency of the process,” saidFaisal al-Shuaibi, CRA’s spokesperson. “The CRA is continuallyupdating its services and looking for ways to improve the experience oftelecoms consumers in Qatar. Furthermore, it is in line with the CRA’swider strategy of ensuring that people have the right tools andtechnology at their fingertips to contribute to CRA’s vision of makingQatar a smart, connected nation,” he added.To benefit from thisservice, users should create an account using the e-Spectrum ServicesPortal via https://e-spectrum.cra.gov.qa. Each applicant can onlyregister one account and once the approval is obtained, users cancollect the license from CRA’s offices in Al Nassr Tower (B), AlCorniche Street.
