Bangladesh beat Qatar in AFC U-16

Qatar lost to Bangladesh 0-2 yesterday to crash out of contention for the Asian Football Confederation U-16 Championship to be held in Malaysia next year. At the Grand Hamad Stadium, Qatar’s U-16 boys were off-colour in the Group E qualifiers as  Bangladesh dominated the game with Dipok Roy (70th minute) and Foysal Ahmed Fahim scoring for the visitors. In their only other group game on Wednesday, Qatar were beaten 1-6 by Yemen, who also had defeated Bangladesh to qualify for Malaysia as table-toppers. PICTURES: Anas Khalid
