Ooredoo, Aldar join hands

The Ooredoo Mobile Money service has announced a new partnership with Aldar Exchange.This will enable registered Ooredoo Mobile Money customers to send money directly to international bank accounts via Aldar Exchange from their mobile.Using the Ooredoo Supernet, Ooredoo Mobile Money customers can now begin using the service via the “simple, secure and reliable” Ooredoo Money application or USSD (*140#) service menu, the company has said in a press statement.With Ooredoo Mobile Money and Aldar, customers can send money directly from their mobile wallet (mWallet) to any bank account in selected countries, including India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Jordan, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka, among others.“Customers will continue to enjoy Aldar’s most competitive fee and one of the best exchange rates in Qatar while sending money directly from their mobile phone using the Ooredoo Mobile Money service,” the statement noted.Talking about the partnership, Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, Ooredoo’s director of PR and Corporate Communications, said: “Ooredoo Mobile Money is fast becoming the easiest and most popular way to transfer money overseas in Qatar and we are thrilled to further expand the options available for our customers with Aldar Exchange.”Jumah Mubarak al-Maadhadi, CEO of Aldar Exchange, added: “Ooredoo Mobile Money is a perfect way for our customers to instantly transfer money internationally and we’re proud to partner with the leading telecommunications company in Qatar for this service.”This new partnership with Aldar Exchange aims to “offer access to world-class financial services for expatriates in Qatar, as well as a secure and convenient alternative to carrying cash and waiting in queues at exchange houses, while enjoying all the service features as the exchange house counters”, the statement adds.New customers can register for free by visiting any Ooredoo shop, dialling *140# and entering their QID number or through the free Ooredoo Money App.After registration, customers can create their own four-digit secured mPIN code to access their mobile wallet securely.Ooredoo has urged customers to keep their mPIN code safe at all times and never share it with anyone.Once registered, customers can begin to deposit money into their Mobile Wallet via over 200+ Ooredoo’s self-service machines or through any Ooredoo shop.
