Most Qataris expect business conditions to improve: survey

More than three-quarters of Qatari respondents in a latest survey expect business conditions in Qatar to improve.The Middle East Job Seeker Confidence Survey was carried out by leading job site Bayt.com and global market research company, YouGov.Concentrating on the current availability of jobs, more than half (54%) of Qatari respondents believe that there are currently “plenty of jobs available”.Further, one in two respondents in Qatar (50%) are either “somewhat” or “very hopeful” that they will find their ideal job in the next six months.With regards to job satisfaction levels, 61% of Qatari respondents are satisfied with their career growth opportunities, while 21% are neutral.Over half (52%) of respondents in Qatar are satisfied with the level of job security that they have in their current organisation and 18% are neutral.A similar pattern was seen when it came to training and professional development.A total of 51% of respondents said they are satisfied with this aspect, while 23% were neutral.In terms of work-life balance, 54% of Qatari respondents said they were satisfied, while 22% were neutral.Looking at future career growth opportunities, 63% of Qatari respondents believe that career growth opportunities will get better over the next six months, 23% said they will remain the same, while only 3% said they could get worse.This positive outlook by respondents was also reflected on their expectations for compensation in the next six months, with 47% believing that it will get better, 41% expecting their compensation to remain the same, and only 6% saying it could get worse.For non-monetary benefits, 53% of Qatari respondents believe these will get better, 33% believe they will remain the same, and only 7% said they could get worse.With regards to training and professional development more than half (54%) of respondents believe that it will get better, 27% said that it will remain the same, and only 8% said it could get worse over the next six months.Lastly, when asked about future work-life balance, 48% of Qatari respondents said they expect it to get better, 33% expect it to remain the same, and only 8% said it could get worse over the next six months.As many as 55% of Qatari respondents believe that their or their family’s financial position will “improve” in the next six months.While 22% of respondents expect their financial conditions to “remain the same as it is now”, only 9% said it could become worse.Nearly two-thirds of respondents (65%) are highly optimistic that the economy of Qatar will improve over the next six months, while only 10% said that it could recede.Further, over three-quarters (76%) of Qatari respondents expect business conditions in Qatar to improve.
