Qatar to acquire 24 Typhoon jets from UK

Qatar and Britain yesterday signed a Letter of Intent to purchase 24 modern Typhoon aircraft with all their equipment.The deal was signed by HE the Minister of State of Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah and Britain’s Defence Secretary Michael Fallon at the Ministry’s headquarters.It also aims to strengthen co-operation and mutual support between the two countries in the military and technical fields.The two ministers discussed aspects of co-operation in the military field, especially in combating terrorism and extremism. The meeting also discussed the most important regional issues.
