Poland, Qatar sign MoU on maritime business

HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti took part in the opening of the 19th International Exhibition and Conferences BALTEXPO 2017, yesterday in Gdansk, Poland.Addressing the opening ceremony of the three-day event, he highlighted the key role the marine transport sector plays in world trade. On the sidelines of the event, HE Minister al-Sulaiti and Poland’s Minister of Marine Economy and Inland Waterways Marek Gróbarczyk, and Qatar’s ambassador to Poland Ahmed bin Saif al-Mu’adadi witnessed the signing ceremony of a memorandum of co-operation between Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani Qatar) and the Port of Gdansk Authority. The agreement aims to promote mutually beneficial partnership and co-operation in the maritime business and in maintaining close bilateral relations in maritime business.The memorandum was signed by Captain Abdulla al-Khanji, CEO of Mwani Qatar, and Lukasz Greinke, president of the board and managing director, Port of Gdansk Authority.BALTEXPO gathers approximately 300 companies from 14 countries and is expected to welcome more than 4,000 visitors.It is the biggest and the oldest event in Poland among economic events related to the marine economy: Shipbuilding industry, ports and logistics associated with the use of maritime and inland waterways, transportation and the security of coasts, ports and navigation.
