Djelamer takes home President of the UAE Cup

Djelamer made a successful return to the track when he won the President of the UAE Cup (Gr3 PA) in Ostende, Belgium, on Monday. The Khalifa bin Hamad al-Attiyah-owned colt had not raced for a year.On Monday, after cantering in the middle of the field, he showed courage to surge forward and edge out Al Shaqab Racing’s Al Hayyem by a head. “It is an excellent return after such a long absence,” trainer Alban de Mieulle said. “He has always been a good horse and we are very happy. The program has not been defined yet but he could run at Duindigt at the end of August.” As a four-year-old, Djelamer had finished second in the Qatar Silver Sword in Doha and won a Gr3 in Duindigt last year.
