Doha Festival City (DHFC) has announced it will give families numerous beachside adventures in August, featuring “unique experiences away from the heat”.DHFC is a leading entertainment, retail and hospitality destination in Qatar managed and operated by Al-Futtaim.In a statement, DHFC said mallgoers would have the “best summer holiday getaway” at the mall with an array of activities and workshops from 3pm to 9pm daily. The ‘dive for treasure’, ‘walk the plank’ and ‘sail the high seas’ at the mall’s pirate-themed adventure ball pit is expected to attract children of all ages. The colourful ball pit at the Centre Court will operate every half an hour from 3pm to 8pm, providing hours of fun daily from August 3 to 26. A minimum spend of QR200 is required at any store at the mall to participate in this activity. High-energy adventure lovers can test their racing skills at the remote control (RC) car race track at the Axis Node from August 3 to 26. Families and friends can compete for free by driving their high-speed RC cars through various tight turns on sand dunes to the finish line. With a different seaside theme each weekend in August, children can have their faces painted, decorate stones, paint shells or personalise their own T-shirts from August 3 to 26 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). “All creations can be kept, taken home and shown off to friends and family,” DHFC said. “The first and last weekend will consist of sand art and T-shirt personalising, the second weekend is all about stone and sand art-making and the third weekend will be shell and sand art making at the Cloud Node for free.”Enhance children’s creativity with interactive play at ‘Summertime Modelling’ at the Entertainment Node free of charge from August 3 to 26 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). With sparkly ocean-coloured Play-Doh, as well as kinetic sand, children will be able to create their own beach scene and show off their creations to family and friends.
