Emir, Father Emir perform Eid prayer, receive well-wishers

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer along with citizens at Al Wajba praying area Sunday morning.

HE Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Khalifa al-Thani, His Highness the Personal Representative of HH the Emir Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa al-Thani, and HE Speaker of the Advisory Council Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi and the sons of His Highness the Father Emir took part in the prayer.A number of sheikhs, ministers, members of the Advisory Council, ambassadors and citizens also attended the prayer.

Dr Thaqeel Sayer al-Shammari, Court of Cassation judge and Supreme Judiciary Council member, who led the prayer delivered the Eid sermon in which he thanked God for his grace on Muslims as they completed the fast and highlighted the benefits of fasting. He also pointed to the virtues of Islam, which encourages co-operation in righteousness and piety and ensure the security and protection of the homeland and obedience to the guardians.He called on Muslims to worship God Almighty and follow the pillars of Islam, urging them to work and maintain kinship relations.Scores of worshippers performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer in mosques and praying areas across the country.
