Olympic maroon beat Singapore 2-0 in second friendly

Qatar’s Olympic national football team beat Singapore 2-0 in a second international friendly that was staged at Aspire as The Maroon prepare for the AFC U-23 Championship qualifiers in Doha in July.Almoez Ali got the scoreboard moving for Qatar in the 58th minute before Ahmed al-Saadi doubled the Qatari lead 20 minutes later. Qatar had beaten Singapore 3-0 in their first friendly.Qatar coach Felix Sanchez fielded two different teams for each half in order to give the chance to all the players and ensure their physical and technical readiness before naming his squad.The national team will play another friendly against North Korea on June 22 before they compete in a quartet international friendly from June 29 to July 6.The series of international friendlies concludes with a match against Lebanon on July 10 ahead of the start of the qualifiers, in which Qatar play in Group C alongside Syria, India and Turkmenistan.The Olympic team gathered on June 5 as Sanchez named a 25-man squad who then entered a closed camp at Aspire.
