Doha Festival City, the largest entertainment, retail and hospitality destination in Qatar, managed and operated by Al-Futtaim, is hosting during Ramadan its first in-mall activity, a two-hour traditional story-telling event. For three days, children could listen to beautiful tales shared by researcher and traditional story teller Um Khalaf. The venue is the Centre Court under the sprawling atrium. More free of charge fun activities have been announced. The first in the line is about decorating Ramadan cookies, from June 1 to 3, from 8.30pm to midnight. Children, between four and 12 years, will get to play the expert with their very own Chef’s hat and apron, as they decorate cookies in the shape of Ommi Dolls and Camels. On June 9 from 8.30pm Doha Festival City is honouring the biggest traditional celebration for children, between four and 12 years, this Ramadan with a fun-packed Garangao event. First, kids will be given their own mall maps that will give them clues to find and collect candy and nuts all over Doha Festival City. They can then also take part in the Drum Making Workshop – where everyone will have the chance to design and build their own drum, made out of recycled tin containers. June 15 to 17 will see children, again between four and 12 years, getting the chance to try their hand at arts and crafts. Whether it is making prayer mat or money box or Ommi Doll Colouring and Ramadan Cards, there are four different workshops to take part.
