Nakilat assumes full management of ‘Al Ghashamiya’

Nakilat has assumed full ship management and operations of Q-Flex liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier ‘Al Ghashamiya’ from STASCo (Shell Trading and Shipping Company) with effect from yesterday. ‘Al Ghashamiya’ is the eighth wholly-owned LNG vessel that will come under the management of Nakilat Shipping Qatar, bringing the total number of vessels managed by it to 16, comprising 12 LNG and four liquefied petroleum gas carriers. With a cargo carrying capacity of 217,591 cu m, ‘Al Ghashamiya’ is wholly-owned by Nakilat and chartered by Qatargas. The vessel built in South Korea by Samsung Heavy Industries was delivered in 2009 and has been in service ever since.
