Safa beach renovated

Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality has renovated Safa Al Touq Beach, sponsored by Ras Laffan Office for Social Communication.The sands of the beach were replaced with clean sands and 33 palm trees planted in addition to greening a space of 5,000sq m. Canopies and kids areas were established.  The beach has also been provided with a good number of parking lots. Al Rayyan Municipality building permits section issued 159 building permits in April, in addition to 24 demolition permits, 121 building completion certificates, and 34 excavation permits.On the occasion of the World Turtle Day, which falls on May 23 every year, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has urged people to actively co-operate to make the turtle nestling season a success at Fuwairait Beach, which remains closed to the public from April 1 until August 15 in this connection. Similarly, MME has reiterated the importance of maintaining biodiversity on the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22. MME has also reiterated its support to the various international agreements in this regard.
