Doha to host international primary healthcare meet

Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will host the International Primary Healthcare Conference in Doha from November 17 to 19.The theme of the conference is “Healthier Communities, Brighter Future”, with topics covered across a wide range of programmes including health systems and quality improvement, clinical management and practice, health promotion and disease prevention, education and training, as well as capacity building. The conference will bring together speakers and experts from across the globe to share knowledge and best practice through panel sessions, exhibitions and workshops. The pre-conference workshops will cover a variety of topics, such as knee and shoulder examination, minor surgical skills that include key topics related to wound management and cultural competence. The three-day event will “honour progress and embrace the future of primary healthcare, providing a platform to share knowledge, facilitate forums to discuss best practices and underline Qatar’s legacy of promoting health and wellness by providing excellence in primary healthcare”, according to a press statement.Dr Mariam Abdulmalik, managing director of PHCC, said: “There is a continual necessity for healthcare professionals to develop their knowledge, discover the latest innovation in healthcare and learn about the new means available to ensure that they are delivering excellence in healthcare. “The International Primary Healthcare Conference 2017 will provide an exciting platform to network with globally leading experts, share knowledge and discover not only best practice in primary care but also practical tools to tackle the growing demands at primary care setting.”
