Khalifa Stadium all set for final: Organising Committee

All measures are being taken to ensure that the 2017 Emir Cup final at the Khalifa International Stadium will be an amazing experience. The Organising Committee of the Emir Cup informed this during a press conference held yesterday at the venue where Al Sadd will take on Al Rayyan in what is expected to a thrilling encounter.  Chief operating officer of the Organising Committee Hassan al-Kuwari, marketing and communications manager Jassim al-Jassim and representative of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant Fahad Buhindi were present at the press conference. In order to streamline the entry of spectators into the stadium, the gates will be opened at 3:30pm, two hours before the action begins. The evening’s activities will begin with an opening ceremony at 6:30pm followed by the kick-off half an hour later.  The security for the event will be top-notch assured Buhindi. He informed that police teams are already patrolling the stadium and the surrounding areas. Police personnel will be also be deployed inside the stadium to help the fans get to their seats. In addition to this, there will be security at all the entry gates. Buhindi requested the fans to co-operate with the police to facilitate easy entry and exit from the venue.  There will be fan zones around the stadium, which will have eateries to cater to the large number of people who are expected to turn up for this historic match.  The stadium has 64 hospitality suites for VIPs and a limited number of them will be open for testing purposes. They will be distributed between sponsors and supporters of the two finalists. The private suites are priced between QR15,000 and QR30,000. Out of these two suites will be given to people with special needs. For the spectators, there are 10,000 tickets that have been put on sale. The Organising Committee also informed that the players and officials who were present during the 1976 opening ceremony have been invited for the final tomorrow. Apart from them, high-ranking football officials and dignitaries from across the region have also been invited.
