Governor of Grande Comore visits QRCS

The Governor of Grande Comore, Hassani Hamadi Mgomri, has visited Qatar Red Crescent (QRCS) with a diplomatic delegation on the sidelines of his official trip to Doha.The delegation was accompanied by Sheikh Dr Faleh bin Nasser al-Thani, assistant undersecretary at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment for Agricultural Affairs, Livestock and Fisheries.They were received by Ali Hassan al-Hammadi, secretary-general of QRCS; Yousef Ahmed al-Hammadi, executive director; Issa Mohamed al-Ishaq, director of Communication; Dr Fawzi Oussedik, head of International Relations and International Humanitarian Law; and officials from the Relief and International Development Division.Al-Hammadi welcomed the guests and held talks about the humanitarian and social conditions in Grande Comore, which faces challenges of poverty, economic crisis and inadequate services.Mgomri thanked QRCS for its effective humanitarian interventions in the Comoros, particularly in medical and food assistance. Highlighting the important role of QRCS in Africa, he called for further co-operation to improve living standards in the country, with a promise to remove any difficulties that future humanitarian undertakings may face.Al-Hammadi hailed the proposed co-operation in light of QRCS’s goals and scope of work, in the form of well-designed projects with formalised objectives, budgets,timeframes and mechanisms.“We look forward to your support in facilitating our work in Grande Comore to continue to serve the needy local communities there. Empowerment and sustainability are top priorities of QRCS’s projects,” he added.
