US hails Qatar’s support for global anti-terror coalition

The United States of America has thanked Qatar for its support to the global coalition to defeat ISIS and praised Qatar’s continuing efforts to stop the financing of terrorist groups, including prosecuting suspect financiers, freezing assets, and introducing stringent controls to its banking system.US State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert said this came during a meeting in Washington on Monday between US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson with HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani during which they reaffirmed their commitment to work towards a stronger partnership, a more secure region and consolidated relations between the two countries.They also discussed the strategic relations between the two countries, and co-operation in the military field as well as the fight against terrorism and the elimination of the ISIS group.The meeting also reviewed the latest developments in the region, especially in Syria.
