As many as 516 exhibitors from 33 countries are showcasing their products, technologies and solutions at the Project Qatar 2017 exhibition, which was inaugurated on Monday at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).The four-day international trade exhibition for construction technology, building materials, equipment and environmental technology will conclude on Thursday.The exhibition, which is in the 14th year, is held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, and was inaugurated by HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani.HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, US ambassador Dana Shell Smith, French ambassador Eric Chevalier, and other dignitaries were present at the inauguration.

A vehicle fitted with wheelchair lifts and ramps to help the differently abled people is showcased at one of the stalls.

Companies from France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the UAE, China, Turkey, Kuwait, and Pakistan have set up pavilions at the expo. Also featured at the exhibition are stalls and pavilions of brands from other countries and those belonging to Qatari companies and institutions.Event organiser IFP Qatar's general manager George Ayache said the expo is featuring workshops and conferences as it has been in previous years."We expect to witness some major deals and new project launches during the expo,” he said.Some of the main sponsors and partners of Project Qatar include the Qatar Tourism Authority, Manateq Economic Zones, NBK Automobiles, Al Sraiya Group, Palmera, and QD-CPC Industries.
