Turkish Airlines has announced that it has started offering laptops for its business class passengers on US-bound flights. In a statement yesterday, the national flag carrier of Turkey also said it would provide the same service to its UK-bound business class passengers from May 12.The move comes as the airline “continues to develop new solutions for its passengers with respect to the electronics ban, applied to its US- and UK-bound flights”, the statement notes.Under this service, passengers who deliver their personal laptops to authorised Turkish Airlines staff before their flight can request for a laptop from the cabin crew in order to conduct business or personal work during the flight. The laptops, which include a feature that converts them into tablets on being folded and also come with a touchscreen facility, will be offered through a high-security system that protects the personal information/works of passengers by automatically and permanently deleting them from the system when the notebook computer shuts down, the statement explains. Passengers can also make a copy of their personal work on a USB memory stick.
