Eight Mali soldiers killed in ambush

At least eight Malian soldiers were killed on Tuesday in an ambush by suspected Islamist militants on a road between Dogofri and Nampala in the central region of the country, army spokesman Colonel Diaran Koné said.

Militants have staged a series of attacks in Mali in recent months, including a suicide bombing at an army base in January in which at least 77 people were killed.
