Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has received a $1mn award for its contributions to conserve water at the Maktoum bin Rashid al-Maktoum Award ceremony in Dubai. The globally accepted standards and practices being adopted by Kahramaa in finding innovative solutions to conserve and preserve its water resources through effective research and applications came in for praise from the jury. Kahramaa shared the top honour in the international institutions category with a Netherlands-based research organisation.
