QIB enhances issuance of its debit cards

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has enhanced its services related to the instant issuance of debit cards.This new facility ensures that all QIB debit cards are produced within minutes at all QIB branches for customers to avoid any hassle or delays.With the introduction of this new facility, QIB becomes the first lender in Qatar to offer customers instant debit cards issuance through all its branches within minutes, whether for new or existing customers, who are requesting to replace, re-issue or renew their card.A customer who visits any QIB branch to open a new current or savings account walks away with his/her debit card produced instantly over the counter.Similarly, if an existing debit card has been stolen, damaged or will expire soon, all QIB customers can replace or renew their cards instantly at any QIB branch across Qatar.“We understand our customer’s busy lives, and therefore have invested to introduce the instant debit card issuance enlarged services across all our branches throughout the country. Our investment in technology stems from the objective of servicing our customers in the most efficient way in order to meet their financial needs swiftly and allow them to enjoy simple banking with our new services,” D Anand, general manager of QIB’s Personal Banking Group said.As a leading card issuer in Qatar, QIB is constantly looking for ways to enhance its offerings and last year, it had announced that its customers may use their debit cards, in addition to their credit cards, for secure online purchases and payments, from travel arrangements and luxury goods to utility bills or e-government services.The online payment is provided and verified in association with a 3-D secure feature that adds an additional layer of security to Internet-based credit and debit card purchases.
