Shangri-La Hotel Doha has added Chef Nana Supriatna to its team as the new Head Pastry Chef.Indonesian Chef Supriatna has extensive experience in the industry, having previously served as the Executive Pastry Chef for the iconic 5-star Grosvenor House, Dubai since 2005. Over 10 years at Grosvenor have provided Supriatna with invaluable experience, enabling him to develop his recipes and knowledge of the culinary scene. Supriatna’s efficiency in the kitchen stems from his major in Hotel Management from the Indonesian Tourism Academy, Jakarta, 1986-1990, his apprenticeship programme at the Intercontinental Hotel, Jakarta, 1990-1991 and his scholarship at the National Hotel Insititute, Badung, Indonesia, where he majored in Food Commodities.Chef Supriatna has an impressive range of culinary skills; he has expertise in Arabic and Asian sweets, pastry delicatessen, pastry gourmet, chocolate art and marzipan art, promising to infuse the Shangri-La dessert menu with unique flavours, international dishes and a cultural dressing.Alex Willats, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel Doha, said: “To have someone with such experience from one of the best hotels in Dubai join the team is incredibly exciting.
