Temperature likely to drop slightly today

Strong winds are expected in some places by this noon, the Qatar Met department has said. Offshore areas, too, are likely to experience windy conditions today along with high seas. Weather charts also point to the possibility of a slight drop in temperature around the country today. The Met department had recently said the mercury level was likely to “return to the normal range” today as the winds turn northerly. This would follow a spell of “above-average” temperature in Doha and other parts of the country over the past few days, with the maximum going beyond 40C on several occasions.
