Bahrain’s Nasser Yacoub, Tasnim Kazi win Qatar Senior Open

Bahrain’s Nasser Yacoub defeated compatriot Adnan Mubarak in a playoff to win the Qatar Senior Open at the Doha Golf Club on Saturday. Yacoub and Mubarak were tied on five-over par forcing the playoff in which the former triumphed. Qatar’s Abdulaziz al-Boainin was placed third. The ladies event was won by Tasnim Kazi, while Teresa Joe Gow and Beth San Jose finished second and third respectively. Fahad Nasser al-Naimi, the Secretary General of Qatar Golf Association (QGA) and Mohamed Faisal al-Naimi, Executive Director, crowned the winners. The two-day championship brought together 120 golfers from the GCC nations, other parts of Asia besides expatriates in Qatar. The Qatar Golf Association and Doha Golf Club thanked Ammico Contracting, the main sponsors of the tournament, as well as Gulf Lights, QALCO, JJ Infrastructure and AL Mohhana for their continuous support.
