Expat drug dealer gets 10 years jail, QR400,000 fine

A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced an expatriate man to pay a fine of QR400,000 and 10 years in jail with subsequent deportation for illicit drug dealing and consumption.

Local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported that the department concerned at the Ministry of Interior had received information from a secret source that the defendant circulated the illicit drug methadone. Accordingly, he was approached by the source who wanted to buy the pills for QR6,000. The deal was executed under surveillance of the police patrols and the defendant was arrested with a small bag containing 50 pills of methadone.
