SBCQ eyes stronger ties with commercial offices in Doha

The Spanish Business Council in Qatar (SBCQ) recently held its monthly networking event, ‘Get Together’, which included, for the first time, members of Advantage Austria and the Austrian Business Office.During the meeting, the SBCQ’s board directors announced its agenda of activities and events for 2017.The SBCQ said one of the objectives of the networking event, which was chaired by Spanish ambassador Ignacio Escobar and Austrian ambassador Willy Kempel, is to establish “strong and collaborative relationships” with other commercial offices in Doha.The council also said it will continue to invite different commercial offices in future ‘Get Together’ events, adding that the exchange between various Qatar-based companies and professionals, “and the generation of joint business” is one of the objectives of the SBCQ board led by José Vicente.Since 2009, ‘Get Together’ served as a meeting point for all Spaniards, the SBCQ said. Newcomers to Qatar are welcomed in a “relaxed networking environment,” where veteran members of the Spanish community have the opportunity to meet again “in an atmosphere of friendship and companionship.” The SBCQ said the event, which is usually held every first Wednesday of the month, is open to everyone even those who are not members of the business council.
