Defence Minister opens military medical centre

HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah inaugurated yesterday a military medical centre, which will be dedicated to serving members of the armed forces and their families.The centre will include a wide variety of medical services, including one for critical cases.It will also have a laboratory, X-ray facilities and a pharmacy. Director of the centre Hamad Saadon al-Athba said yesterday that the development of the centre was based on the directives of the defence minister.Al-Athba noted that they had a comprehensive plan for operating the centre. He stressed that the inauguration of the centre is the armed forces’ contribution to having modern medical services in the country with the highest capabilities and personnel. The director said that the vision for the centre is for it to become a leader in medical services as well as research.The centre will have a number of clinics, including those for general needs, diabetes, nutrition, digestive system, rheumatology among others, along with a pharmacy.
