Red Bull to organise Qatar’s first head-to-head T3 buggy race

Red Bull is all set to organise the country’s first head-to-head T3 Buggy Race on March 3, 2017, at Sealine.Red Bull Qaher El T3ous will see motorsport amateurs and Qatar’s dune racers compete against each other, off the beaten track, on different tricky terrains.The winner, who emerges as the local hero, will take home an enviable T3 buggy as the grand prize. All the prizes, including for second and third place finishers, will be provided by Speed Marine. Supported and supervised by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), Qaher El T3ous – which means the conqueror of the dunes, will offer a challenging yet safe platform, for desert racing enthusiasts, while promising to offer competitors and spectators a fun-filled event. Commenting on the event, QMMF executive director Sultan al-Murraikhi said, “This is the first race of its kind where drivers will be competing head-to-head on the same track. The challenge is between racers and not against time. The crowned winner will merit the title based on his manoeuvring competences and not the strength of his buggy.” He added, “Red Bull Qaher El T3ous is also innovative when it comes to the smart yet natural obstacles that participants have to face in a safe environment. The public will be able to watch the full race while staying in one place.” With an ever-rising interest in dune bashing, Qaher El T3ous will offer an unusual experience, as participants will get to demonstrate their buggy skills.Sealine has been chosen as the location for the unusual desert-racing venture, as it provides idyllic environment where the customised, unique track can be set up for the competition.Red Bull Qaher El T3ous is open to all motorsport amateurs residing in Qatar. As part of the technical requirements, drivers will be required to wear safety gear including helmets and closed shoes, and participate with their own T3 buggies — stock category.
