Ooredoo will provide free access to a range of sports and healthy activities for Qatar’s communities at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Park from 8am to 5pm on National Sport Day, tomorrow. This is the sixth year that Ooredoo will host its National Sport Day events at MIA Park and this year the park has been split into special zones designed to find a sporting activity for everyone from children and young adults, to fitness fans and sporting newbies alike. Highlights of the activities include a penalty shootout, tug of war, karate, aerobics, handball, human chess, basketball, and more. As well as sporting activities, healthy food options will be sold at the park alongside fresh juice and water, and Ooredoo encourages families to bring a picnic and enjoy the daylong event. Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, director of community and public relations at Ooredoo, said: “We’re delighted to once again host our event at the MIA Park to celebrate Qatar National Sport Day. Sport Day is an important day for our country not only because it reminds the community about the importance of staying fit and healthy, but helps bring them together also. We hope everyone enjoys the day and we can’t wait to see you there.”Each activity selected by Ooredoo for its Sport Day event aims to install the benefits of healthy living for participants. The company has hired professional sports trainers to teach visitors these sporting skills, which can then be used in everyday life.To ensure that as many people attend this year’s event as possible, Ooredoo has teamed up with local comedian and vlogger Tareq Alward to inspire young people to get involved in Qatar National Sport Day 2017.Ooredoo’s Qatar National Sport Day campaign song and video is live now via its social media and YouTube channel, and features Alward singing ‘goodbye’ to his favourite beanbag as he takes the leap and starts his journey to be more healthy.Ooredoo’s support for Qatar’s National Sport Day is part of their ongoing commitment to raise awareness of the importance of fitness and health to the people of Qatar.
