Bedaya holds ‘Open Day’

The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and Silatech, yesterday hosted an ‘open day initiative’ entitled ‘Every path has a start’.The open day aims to acquaint people with the services and activities carried out by the centre in the fields of entrepreneurship and career development. Bedaya also set up 15 booths for successful entrepreneurs to show visitors the nature of assistance it provided, which subsequently led to their success. The event also offered support to those entrepreneurs showcasing their products and merchandise to the visitors. Bedaya offered visitors from schools, universities, and graduates access to ‘Tamheed’, the psychometric tool used by Bedaya Centre that helps young people better understand their career options. Throughout the past five years, Bedaya Centre has worked with key partners and social media influencers that have supported the centre’s mission and given valuable time to support the growth of the startups under Bedaya Centre. This event attracted influencers such as Sheikha Fatima al-Thani, Asma al-Hammadi, and Saleh Alayan, who have always shown their support and have been a key part in Bedaya Centre’s growth in the last five years. Bedaya Centre general manager Reem al-Suwaidi said, “The event comes under our marketing plan to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Bedaya Centre, aiming to provide an opportunity for visitors to get to know the centre’s various divisions (entrepreneurship and career development), and to introduce them the best ways to support their existing projects or to turn their ideas into realistic future projects and thereby contribute to the local economy.” “The group of advisers from Bedaya’s Career development division provided advice and guidance to all visitors. We also had an exhibition alongside the open day showcasing 15 successful projects that benefited from Bedaya’s services and activities which were the official starting point for them, “ she added. Yasmeen Hasan, Entrepreneurship manager at Bedaya Centre said, “We strive to support entrepreneurship and we are keen to add a tangible value to the entrepreneurship community in the state of Qatar, which is in line with our mission to accelerate the pace of private sector’s growth and for further diversification of the local economy.”Ola Abdin, Career Development manager at Bedaya Centre said, “Through the career development department, we seek to help students understand themselves and learn about their preferences and aptitudes and abilities to achieve an appropriate choice for a future career by explaining the educational and professional opportunities for the students.”
