Malayalam actress held in over Rs1.30bn fraud

Malayalam actress Dhanya Mary Varghese has been arrested for financial fraud of Rs1.3bn. Varghese, her husband John and his brother Samuel, were on the run after complaints were filed by clients who had booked apartments in a project by Samson Builders, owned by John’s family. The company had failed to honour the contracts. Samson Builders was in the process of constructing apartments and villas.
