The State Property Protection Committee, in co-operation with other authorities concerned, has detected and removed encroachment from state properties in villages. All necessary legal procedures were taken against the violators in accordance with the law, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement. Brigadier Ali Mahdi al-Nuaimi, secretary of the committee, said a number of violations involving encroachment of state property were detected in the outer villages of the country in accordance with laws regulating the committee’s work and through co-operation with the entities concerned at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.Accordingly, the required procedures were initiated to verify the cases, the statement noted. The violators could not submit any documents that indicated their ownership of the said plots of land or buildings located there. Besides, a review of aerial images from before 1995 showed that such structures were not present on the plots back then. The violators were notified by the municipality concerned and a date was set to remove the structures in co-operation with the respective security departments.
