A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced four expatriate men to 10 years in jail and ordered their subsequent deportation for robbery, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported on Sunday.

The four defendants were accused of stealing QR1.5mn from the vehicle of an employee of a local exchange company. According to the charge-sheet, the convicts crashed their vehicle into the vehicle of the victim in Industrial Area. Then, they grabbed a bag full of cash from the employee and ran away. Later, investigations revealed that the defendants used a stolen plate number on the car for the crime. When the car was tracked down, it led to one of the defendants. He was arrested at the airport trying to exit the country with some of the stolen money. When arrested, he confessed to the police about the other three accomplices. They ultimately admitted their guilt, and told the police where they had kept the rest of the stolen money.
