The service is moving to Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City on October 22.
Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Allergy and Immunology Service will move from its current location on the 2nd floor of the Outpatient Department in Hamad General Hospital to Level 4, Flat B, Building 310, Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City on October 22.
“The Allergy and Immunology Service treats a large volume of patients that require physician consultations and clinical procedures. The new location will provide the clinical teams with more space to treat these patients – delivering an expanded and improved service for patients while also improving the working environment for staff,” said head of the Allergy and Immunology Service, Dr Mariam al-Nesf. The new location will provide four consultation rooms solely dedicated to the Allergy and Immunology Service, which will mean patients have access to more spacious facilities, equipped specifically for purpose. Building 310 is also home to the Internal Medicine Ambulatory Care Clinics and is therefore uniquely designed to deliver a patient centred approach, including an on-site pharmacy and accessible patient parking facilities. The Allergy and Immunology Service is part of the Division of Pulmonology in the Department of Internal Medicine. “Our skilled clinical team provides services for patients suffering from a range of allergy, immunological and respiratory-related conditions such as asthma. They also work closely with a range of other important clinical services within HMC including Emergency Medicine, Paediatrics and Dermatology,” stated Dr al-Nesf. Allergy and immunology related conditions can have potentially fatal consequences for patients, and affect not only their well-being but all aspects of their daily life. HMC’s service enables patients to receive personalised care for their conditions and manage often life-threatening conditions related to their illness. Patients with existing appointments scheduled on or after October 23 with the Allergy and Immunology Service should visit the new location for the appointment. For any queries related to existing allergy and immunology appointments, patients can call HMC’s Nesma’ak customer helpline on 16060.
