Qatar, Hungary sign aviation pact

HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Seif Ahmed al-Sulaiti yesterday met with the Minister of State at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr Pana Petra.The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries in the field of transportation, air transport and communications, and means of further enhancing them.Following the meeting, the two ministers witnessed the final signing of an aviation agreement seeking to open the airspace between the two countries, and allowing the operation of any number of passenger and cargo flights with full transport rights.The agreement enables national carriers to exercise the fifth freedom of the air, allowing airlines to carry passengers and cargo to another country, and from there to points beyond.The agreement was signed by HE the Chairman of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority Abdullah bin Nasser Turki al-Subaey and the Hungarian ambassador to Qatar Dr Istvan Elter.The agreement comes as part of ongoing efforts from Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Civil Aviation Authority to hold more talks with other countries aiming to open the gateway to the national carriers to fly to more destinations around the world.Qatar now has air transport agreements with 160 countries.
