‘Governor of the Year’ award

Emerging Markets Ltd has presented HE the Governor of Qatar Central Bank (QCB) Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud al-Thani with the “Governor of the Year” award for the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region for 2016. The ceremony was held in Washington on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The QCB governor received the award in recognition of the policies and strategies adopted by the central bank in the wake of the global financial crisis, and in addressing the challenges imposed by the declining oil prices. Last year, Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud was also awarded the “Central Bank Governor for the Year 2016” by the Union of Arab Banks during its annual conference in Beirut.
