Labourers load an effigy of the demon King Ravana onto a truck on the outskirts of Amritsar yesterday, ahead of the festival of Dussehra. The festival will be held on the last day of the Navratri, symbolising the triumph of good over evil, and culminating in the setting alight of firecracker-stuffed effigies of Ravana.
