India names new ambassador to Qatar

P Kumaran has been appointed as the next Indian ambassador to Qatar, it was announced on Friday by India's Ministry of External Affairs.

Kumaran, a member of the Indian Foreign Service batch of 1992, is presently joint secretary in the ministry. “He is expected to take up his assignment shortly,” according to a press release on the website of the ministry.Sanjeev Arora is the current Indian ambassador to Qatar.
