Al Shaqab’s Zelzal wins Prix Paul de Moussac in style

Zelzal, who carries the colours of Al Shaqab Racing, won the Prix Paul de Moussac (Gr3) in style, this Saturday at Chantilly. In a fast-paced race led by Moon Trouble, Zelzal waited patiently in the pack.In the straight, he began to make his move before producing a devastating acceleration in the final 200 metres to win easily. Jean-Claude Rouget, his trainer, said: “It wasn’t an easy race, as the horse that led is a good horse. It needed a good horse to beat him. I think that Zelzal has still room to improve, as he only began to work in February. He should run in the Prix Jean Prat (Gr1). He gave a real performance of class today.”Zelzal previously ran in the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Gr1) where he showed a lack of experience.
