HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani also watched the game along with HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Emir’s personal representative; HE Sheikh Jassim bin Khalifa al-Thani; Qatar Olympic Committee president HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani; Advisory Council Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khulaifi; Asian Football Confederation president Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim al-Khalifah; a number of presidents of Arab and international sports federations and state guests. Lekhwiya won the game 4-2 on penalties after the game had ended in a 2-2 draw. After the end of the game, the Emir handed the cup and golden medals to Lekhwiya players and the silver medals to Al Sadd players.
