The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) has launched the first stage of decorating roundabouts using soil stabiliser technology. Mohamed Ali al-Khouri, director, MME department of public parks, said work on a roundabout at Mamoura area has been completed and it has been named Heritage Roundabout. A model of a heritage castle has been built through the soil stabiliser technology. The department has a plan to decorate several other roundabouts and main streets through this technology. The new experiment came as an initiative of Future Soil Stabiliser Company, a Qatari company. Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad bin Mubarak al-Thani, vice-chairman of the company, said the technology has great potential for decorating many public areas, in a way that reflects Qatari heritage.
