MEC closes outlets selling counterfeit, expired tyres

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has closed for one month a showroom on Salwa road and a number of its outlets in the Industrial Area for storing and selling counterfeit and expired tyres.

MEC inspectors spotted 4,900 counterfeit tyres in the stores as part of their intensive campaign to monitor the local market.
