Secondary school students who have been admitted to Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q) for the fall 2016 had the opportunity to learn more about the university at the annual Marhaba Tartans event. Current CMU-Q students, faculty and alumni were on hand as more than 100 new students of the Class of 2020 and their parents explored CMU-Q’s programmes, student life and potential career paths. Ilker Baybars, dean and CEO of Carnegie Mellon Qatar, welcomed the new students. Marhaba Tartans is an annual tradition at CMU-Q to give incoming students and families a glimpse of the CMU-Q community. Outreach programmes for secondary school students interested in studying biological sciences, business administration, computer science and information systems are held throughout the year.
