Qatar and Oman sign MoU to boost defence relations

HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah holding talks with Omanu2019s Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al-Busaidi in Muscat yesterday.
HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah held a session of official talks with Oman’s Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al-Busaidi. Discussions during the session focused on existing military co-operation and matters of common interest. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between Qatar’s Ministry of Defence and the Oman’s defence ministry on service conditions for the Omani military officers and personnel dispatched to Qatar. The MoU comes within the framework of co-operation between the ministries of defence of the two countries. The talks were attended by Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al-Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), Qatar’s ambassador to Oman Ali bin Fahad al-Hajri and the delegation accompanying the Minister of State for Defence. HE the Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah arrived here yesterday afternoon, where he was greeted at the Al-Seeb airbase by Oman’s Defence  Minister Sayyid Badr bin Saud bin Harib al-Busaidi, Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al-Nabhani, SAF Chief of Staff, Qatar’s ambassador to Oman and SAF senior officers.
