Thundershowers forecast for today

Thundershowers are expected in some parts of the country today along with strong winds, the Qatar Met department has said. The weather office has also forecast thunderstorms and gusty winds, as well as high seas, in offshore areas.Doha is among the places where rain is likely today, according to weather charts. In a post on social media yesterday evening, the Met department said scattered, light rain was being reported from across Qatar and its intensity was expected to increase in the coming hours.The forecast for both inshore and offshore areas says partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected today and there is a chance of scattered rain, which may be accompanied by thunder is some places at times. The wind speed may go up to 25 knots during the thundershowers, with the sea level rising to 7ft.The minimum and maximum temperatures in the country today are expected to be 20C and 27C, respectively, with the forecast for Doha being 20C and 26C.
